This game sucks balls. The maximum native screen resolution is 1600x1200 for 4:3 and 1600x900 for 16:9. That is simply insane. But one can one really expect ? - this game is handled by Electronic Arts. Apart from this, the graphics themselves are actually crap too - something like a budget game from around 2002. The handling of the vehicles, including motorbikes is simply catastrophic. The physics, or lack thereof is astonishing. This game just plain sucks.
Also as this is a new game from EA it uses the SecuROM product activation check that requires an internet connection. Fear not, for this is one of those games that can be used offline without ever connecting to the internet and without resorting to using cracks. Simply install the game as you would normally, and when complete go to the game's main directory (ie: \Program Files\EA Games\Mercenaries 2 World in Flames) and rename the file called paul.dll to paul.dll.bak (or whatever you want - or even delete it). Now when the game starts it will use a disc check for it's copy protection instead of the online check. (So yes, an original disc is needed.)
